Do you enjoy learning new things and sharing your knowledge? You might be a great fit for the International Quilt Museum’s volunteer docent team!

Docents provide tours of exhibitions to audiences of all ages and backgrounds, including both public and school audiences, and help the museum provide consistent and quality community education opportunities. The IQM offers both public tours and school field trip tours.

These positions require strong communication skills. Docents will receive a sneak peek of new exhibitions and specific exhibition-related training directly from the museum’s curators when new exhibitions open, in addition to other training opportunities throughout the year. Tours are scheduled between 10:00 AM and Noon, Tuesday-Saturday, with public tours generally taking place at 11:00 AM year round, and field trip tours taking place at 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM between November and March. Each tour is between 45 minutes and 1 hour in length.
