The Central Nebraska Medical Reserve Corps is a 501 (C) (3) organization that is self sustained with grants from groups like DHS, NACCHO and Citizen Corps. The CNMRC supports public health departments, county emergency managers, not-for-profit agencies and city government officials dedicated to creating and maintaining a system for responding to public health emergencies. It is our mission is to enhance existing local planning efforts for resources, expertise, communication and personnel with the goal of increasing regional capabilities to manage a large number of casualties and/or disruption of services. CNMRC serves a twenty-three county region in central Nebraska that is largely rural in nature creating a sparse population. The Central Nebraska Medical Reserve Corps will work closely with other Nebraska MRCs in the development and on-going provision of volunteer education and training as well as recruitment of volunteers with the goal of developing a volunteer base in Nebraska that can serve throughout the State regardless of the location of need.
