The Hope Center for Kids started with a vision in the heart of Pastor Ty Schenzel. He saw the need for hope in the lives of youth and children who could not see beyond their circumstances. This vision became a reality in 1998 when The Hope-Omaha opened its doors.

The Hope Center for Kids after-school programming in the North Omaha community and strives to faithfully inspire hope in youth and children through faith, education, employability and collaboration.

Hope Mentoring
The Hope one-on-one mentoring program parallels and compliments the day-to-day programming at The Hope by offering life-giving support through a mentoring relationship.

Stability and consistency are critical in meaningful relationships, so mentors and mentees are asked to make a one-year commitment to the mentoring relationship. This commitment involves an average of one face-to-face meeting per week for an average of one hour per meeting.

Shared activities could involve mutual interests such as going for a walk, visiting a park, completing a shared project, volunteering together, going to a movie or gardening. All the while, you have the opportunity to be a role model and supportive friend, speaking truth, life and love into a young person.
