Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska expresses God’s love for all people by providing quality human care services that build and strengthen individual, family and community life

Lutheran Family Services of Nebraska (LFS) is a faith-based, not-for-profit, multi-service human care agency with more than 18 locations across Nebraska and locations in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Wichita, Kansas.

For more than 125 years, LFS has served children and families. LFS began as two orphanages in Fremont and Omaha in 1892. What began as orphanages in Fremont and Omaha has become a statewide outpouring of God´s love through dozens of programs, 250 staff members and over 1000 volunteers.

Impacting over 43,000 individuals annually, LFS’ services-ranging from prevention to intensive treatment-are as diverse as the people we serve. LFS staff speak 34 languages and dialects.

Programs and services are available to everyone regardless of age, race, religion or income.

LFS is accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services, a confirmation of the agency’s ongoing commitment to quality care. Those accomplishments are made possible by a highly-experienced and stable executive leadership team, together with a team of nearly 300 employees and over 2,000 volunteers, all committed to the LFS mission.
