The mission of the Eastern Nebraska/Western Iowa Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is to improve the safety and health of residents of Douglas, Sarpy, Dodge, Washington, and Saunders counties in Nebraska, and Pottawattamie and Harrison counties in Iowa. This will be accomplished by providing a framework for local volunteers who have medical, public health and other essential emergency response skills to contribute their expertise and time both in emergency events and non-emergency functions and initiatives throughout the year.

was the costliest year on record for natural disasters in the United States.  There were multiple hurricanes, wildfires, droughts, tornadoes, floods, and severe storms.   If global temperatures keep rising, this number is likely to also rise.

people lost their lives due to these disasters.

MRC volunteers stepped up to assist during the hurricane emergencies alone!

could be one of these volunteers!  MRC is needed nationwide during disasters, and in the community during nonemergency events.  Nonmedical and medical professionals are needed to build a strong MRC unit, prepared to respond and support the communities’ needs.

Anyone wanting to help their community can volunteer for the Medical Reserve Corps!
