RROMRS Medical Reserve is a part of Rural Region One Medical Response System which is located in Northeast Nebraska. The area covers 22 counties, 20 hospitals, 5 regional health departments, 1 Indian Health Service Hospital and serves 4 Tribes. Dennis Colsden is both the RROMRS and RROMRS MRC Coordinator. The purpose of RROMRS Medical Reserve Corps is to provide assistance to and meet surge demands during a disaster. RROMRS MRC is associated with the Madison County CERT Team and Citizen Corp Council. In the RROMRS area, the MRC will focus on the recruitment, training and retention of licensed medical professionals while each health department will focus on the recruitment, training and retention of non-medical professionals. These databases will be shared so that there will be a seamless and non-duplicating recruiting process. The health departments and RROMRS MRC will have joint exercises. This is to ensure that each group is aware of everyone’s expectations and that all activities flow correctly.
